what’s holding you up? who’s keeping you down

don’t give me all that, make your life count
those excuses , are holding you back
seek independence, don’t ever stop

given all we chase and want
after all the run around
there’s only one true prize I see
to search for things that set us free

don’t let the world, dissuade your dreams
it’s so absurd, you have the means
what makes your heart sing, what’s freedom to you
what defines your life, that’s what you do

knowing I deserve to be, on this great journey to be free
